little trip to london

At the week end I had a great trip to London,
Sunday Up market , Brick Lane and Spitafields.
Usually I eat far too much at the sunday up market,
trying all the different and diverse foods, however
this time we went to Song Que,
134 Kingsland Road E8, 10 mins walk from Brick Lane,

to find out why this Vietnamese restaurant has
won so many reviews and some awards.
We were not disappointed here is what we enjoyed !

Is this Brighton's Best Kept Secret ?Worth a visit when in Brighton on a saturday.

 Headed down to Upper Gardner Street, Brighton , last saturday 

         and had a good rummage at this street market. 

         One stall sells vintage fabric, and another vintage

         trims and haberdashery, and yet another

         a good selection of vintage patterns.

         The other stalls had plenty of retro clothes,

         books, china, and furniture. 

         Worth a visit when in Brighton on a saturday.

         (It's only on Saturday and starts to pack up at 4ish.)

 This saturday I turned up into North Street at the end of
 Upper Gardner Street and discovered Farm Market, Wow !! has this been here for
 ever ?  Lots of stalls selling fresh home made food, Bread, cakes, meat, fish,olives,
 etc with an amazing cafe at the end.

 Hog roast! sandwiches- Cooked breakfast's- bacon sandwich's,does it get any
better than this? All served up in these cool surroundings. Happy days.

Out and about in Brighton

During a fun morning in Brighton I spotted this cool window at Pen to Paper.
The retro phone, record player and fruit bowl are all part of a knitted living room,
created by the Good Will Group at Emmaus . The group decided to put to use all
the scrap's of yarn and fabric donated to Emmaus and have so far raised
over Eight thousand pounds, and saved lots of yarn and fabric from
going to the land fill.

Happy Days Are HERE Again

Found this art paint on a side passage just off Bond Street in Brighton, home to the wonderful
Lanes. It's very in keeping with the amazing weather we have just all enjoyed!

You will need;
I sheet of paper measuring 23.5 cm x17cm ( I used brown and
white paper)
glue stick
sticky tape/masking tape
small luggage label
and few bits of ribbon or ric rac ( I used black and red)

Fold the paper in half and measure along the edge that measures 17 cm
make a mark, at 8,5 cm, place your folded ribbon either side of this mark and
glue or tape into place, repeat on the other side.(my ribbon measured 9 cm
before folding.) Glue or tape the remaining sides together.

Tie on the luggage label and/or address the envelope. Deliver !
